Welcome to PhotoClub!

PhotoClub is a deviantART group dedicated to showcasing artwork of deviantART members who specialize in the photography of nature. So many people take the beauty of our everyday surroundings forgranted. This group is meant to be a place for those who can find the beauty in nature and capture it on film/disk.

The goal of this group is to provide a safe and fun place where photographers can contribute their art, have it displayed, and have other deviantARTists evaluate it.

Who Can Join?

Anyone with an eye for photography and a love of nature can join. We only ask that you have at least 2 pictures of nature in your gallery and that you show us why you want to be part of this community.


How Do You Join and What Do You Do Next?

In order to join PhotoClub you must send a note with the subject "PhotoClub Membership." An administrator will then get back to you and let you know if you are in or not. Once you're in simply DevWatch ~Photoclub and place the avatar ( ) in your journal.


How Do You Support This Group?

Do you have a love for nature but no skill with a camera? Do you enjoy looking at photographic interpretations of the beauty surrounding us? If either of the above statements apply please feel free to become a PhotoClub supporter. All we ask is that you contact us via note and then DevWatch ~ Photoclub as well as place the avatar ( ) in your journal. It's that easy!!

What Can You Submit?

You can submit any photograph that artistically captures something in nature. Be it an icecicle dangling from a berry bush in the winter or a sunset over the waters of a far of island; PhotoClub accepts and promotes any deviation showcasing the natural beauty of our world.


What Can't You Submit:

If the photograph in question has no absolutely no aspect of nature in it the piece will be immediately rejected; obvously. If the artistic merit of the photograph is questionable i.e. a fuzzy webcam picture of a tree through a window; we as administrators will require an explanation as to why the piece should be included in the group's gallery. We as administrators reserve the right to accept and reject any piece submitted to the PhotoClub gallery. If a piece is rejected a detailed explanation of why will be included. If you wish to challenge the decision please feel free to. We are not untouchable gods, we make mistakes and will admit when we do.


How Do You Submit Art?

If you want to have your art in the PhotoClub gallery, follow these steps;

1) Upload the art to your own gallery
2) Ensure that the piece fits the criteria mentioned in the above 2 sections
3) Send a note to PhotoClub with the following information:

----a] The title
----b] The category and sub-category (as it was submitted on deviantART)
----c] Any keywords
----d] A description you want to be displayed under the item
----e] The link to the art on your deviantART account

Only photographs sent in by PhotoClub members will be featured in the gallery.

The Legal Stuff

PhotoClub has 2 rules you have to follow in order to maintain membership.

1) Don't Harass Members

PhotoClub is dedicated to helping fellow photographers of nature improve their skills. Criticism is both expected and welcome, but please do so in a non-offensive manner. That being said; if you don't can't say something nicely don't say anything at all. All charges of harassment will be looked into and repeat offenders will be denied membership to PhotoClub.


2) Don't Commit Plagiarism

PhotoClub, along with the deviantART community in general, does not support or condone acts of plagiarism. If you did not take the photograph yourself or receive permission from the person who took the photograph you are not permitted to submit the photograph. Violators of this policy will have their art removed from PhotoClub, their membership banned, and reported to deviantART.
